FISHER IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Get the treat Fisher

He is so gentle... he eventually figures out how to get the treat out.  Good boy!

FISHER IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Relaxing in the sun!

Colby was a super spy today and tried to get a photo of Fisher sleeping in the sun.... every time Colby got close Fisher would peak open his eyes.  Colby tried acting like he was napping hoping to capture Fisher snoozing.  It didn't work, but it sure kept a little boy busy and Fisher probably loved to quiet attention.

FISHER IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Puppy play time

Fisher is feeling so comfortable now in his foster home that it is fun to see his puppy antics come out.  When he runs he leaps like a deer pouncing on his toys.  We taught him how to play tug, and his wiggly giggly makes him super crazy!  His play time cracks my kids up!

Playing tug!

Where did Fisher's name come from?

We have kids and one may think we came up with the name Fisher from Fisher-Price toys.   However, we love pancakes, boy do we all love pancakes.  We make them often with bananas, peanut butter or eat them just plain.  Below is a photo of our favorite pancake mix.  So.... Colbs thought Fisher would be a perfect name!

Soaking up sun and love

This little guy loves to relax on a comfy lap.  Because we are busy household with 2 young kids, we rarely sit.  You can see that Fisher took advantage of the 5 min resting time on the deck to seek out a lap.  My husband's lap must have looked the most appealing :)

Colbs always looking for kisses and Fisher is sure to give them out....

Fisher going for a walk

Fisher loves going for a walk!  He walk pretty well on a leash.  We haven't crossed a squirrel yet but he loves the birds.  And Liv is delighted to have him join us for a walk!

Puppy manners

Look, I found a friend... well kind of.  Lacey, a former New Rattitude Rescue, came over to teach me some puppy manners.  Boy, she put me right in my place.  I guess she didn't appreciate me barking and getting in her face.  We tootled around together on the deck and went on many walks together soooo we are kind of friends.  Guess I should respect my elders.... I am learning!

A gorgeous morning!  Fisher loves sunning himself on the deck!  We just got home from a 45 min walk so he is a tired pup!

Find Fishy

My kids love their stuffed animals... they both thought it was so funny to put Fisher amongst the animals because he fits right in....  What a good sport Fishy is!

Home from the Vet

Fisher did well today. The vet said he needs to gain more weight and play tug because he has double k-9 teeth so the baby teeth need to fall out. When he feels better we will be playing lots of tug! This afternoon got some much needed rest and quiet attention from all of us. Tonight he was hand fed by Liv and then got some snuggles in with me. Sweet Fisher.....

Neuter Day for "fishy"

I just took sweet Fisher to the vet for his neuter. I suspect he will do great and won't miss a beat when I pick him up later today.

Liv has re-named him "Fishy". She walks around saying fiiiisssshhhhyyyy...... fiiiissshhhyyyy. Very cute. He is so good with her, in fact he has figured out that licking her hands is where he finds yummy flavors and she just giggles away at his licking.

Fisher's story

Fisher was purchased as a cute puppy and the family had no idea what was required in raising a puppy. Fisher is now 5 months old and his family called one of the CA kill shelters trying to figure out how to "drop him off". The shelter contacted one of NR's california volunteers and New Rattitude found a foster spot for him, which is us! I cannot believe he is 5 mo old. He is a super good boy, very mellow around the house and kids. My son plays with him and Fisher loves it, but when they are done Fisher finds a bone to chew on and calms down. I am also amazed that given we have kids toys in baskets, or occasionally on the floor (okay more that occasionally), Fisher doesn't try to eat them or even pick them up. What a good boy!!

My son carries him around and Fisher loves it!

Beautiful boy!

Any of course my daughter will entice him with bones or food. Fisher is quickly learning who to play with and who will give him treats!
