Toogie has been ADOPTED!!

Cute little Toogie struck gold and was adopted by this lovely couple.  He'll have a ball playing with his new sister, Ella.  I wish you a great and happy life Toogster!!!

Sit and Fetch

Smart little Tooginator is learning how to sit, stay and fetch.  He catches on quickly but still has a lot of learning.  This little guy LOVES treats which is super for training!

Yappy hour - play time for pooches

Toogie did fantastic at yappy hour.  He was in the small dog area with a bunch of boys. Next to us was all the large dogs, you can hear them barking.  Toogie is still figuring out how to act and play with other dogs.   Check out the Toogster in action!

I love Toogies puppy antics.  we are working on not jumping up on humans.  So far he loves the treats I provide for positive based training, this will take time and patience for both of us as he just wants up in my arms...  can't blame him, he just wants to give puppy love.

Toogie arrived on Valentine's Day and gave kisses right away!  He is an adorable squishy puppy that loves to sit in your lap and snuggle.  So far he does great in the crate and lets you know when he has to go potty.  I have an 8yr old and a 3 yr old, they hand fed him this morning and he was in heaven.  This little guy is looking for his forever home.

Rufus has been adopted!

This lucky little boy was adopted by a super loving family with young kids to keep him busy.  Rufus, now Tucker, had a great first day.  Here Tucker and his 5 yr old brother wore each other out and fell fast asleep on the couch.  Happy life little boy!

Rufus is a wonderful dog!  His puppy antics keep us laughing.  So far he has not had one accident in the house.  He is working on crate training and so far he sleeps through the night.  He travels great in the car and gets along well with kids.  I am amazed that being as he is 5 mo old that he doesn't do the puppy biting thing and he doesn't lick like crazy either.   He really likes to be held and carried around, which lucky for him happens a lot.  My son  carries him around a lot as do I.  He is just such a sweet, soft little boy.  Here is a short video to see him in action.

A new boy is coming to town...

Meet Rufus!  This little boy is beyond adorable.  He is a 5 month old ratite that will be arriving to our home this Friday night.  I cannot wait to see his big ears and short legs in person, I think is his so cute.  Rumor has it that he is super sweet too!  

I'll fill you in on why we chose his name in the coming days.... but we thought Rufus was a perfect fit for this little guy.  

Evo has been ADOPTED!

Our lucky little boy found a wonderful home with a great dad and dog sister.  Evo, now Britten, is in heaven with his new home and family.  We miss little boy but we are so happy for him.  Thank you, Britten's dad, for giving him a new start to life and a wonderful place to call his own.

We have a busy house with little ones.  My kids decided to build a fort and invited Evo in.  He obliged and was content to hang out amongst the loud giggles.  When he had enough he was happy to curl up in his bed while the kids continued to play.  

I watch my daughter closely with our fosters as we never know what we are going to get.  She loves dogs and is always seeking them out to pet or provide a treat.  We tend to get puppies so she squeals with delight when they gently use their puppy mouth to play with her.  She got a good dose of puppy mouthiness from our last foster Goya.  You can see how incredibly gentle Evo is with her.  This puppy mouthing is very new and I think it is because he is getting comfortable in our home and around us.  I don't think he has a mean bone in his little body.  I love how he casually walks down the stairs, not in a hurry, just moving on...

Now that the weather is nicer, Evo can join us on our deck.  He is happy to just wander around looking like a handsome little boy.

We stopped at the park yesterday at the last minute because it was so nice.  Although Evo doesn't have his wonder walker on, which is what he normally wears on a walk, he still did well on the leash.

I wanted to test him with other dogs and he was wonderful.  He has great dog skills.  He did bark a few times at a huge black lab but he was ready to play with these two little dogs.  

I don't think Evo had ever been on a leash.  He has come a long ways in walking on a leash from when we got him 4 weeks ago.  He will occasionally sit and "put on the breaks" if he is scared or unsure.  As you can see my son is walking him with no problem.

As I've said many times, Evo is such a mellow boy given he is a 10-12 mo old.  Watch the video and you'll see this is his normal behavior.  He quietly wanders around and doesn't bug anyone, he just likes to be near his people.  Our garden is fenced in so it is a  perfect place to hang out and wander around freely.  We spent the day planting seeds in our garden beds and he loved the freedom to sniff and explore.  He is a delight to have around and super with my kids.

My daughter is 2 and she LOVES dogs.  However, she gets confused on the names of all the fosters we have had.  She always called Kai, Zoi.  She called Goya, Kai.  And she kept calling Evo, Goya.  She has given up and now just calls Evo, little boy.  I love it becuase her cute little voice says "com'on little boy... you shy little boy.  Funny, now I even call him little boy. 

With out a doubt this little guy is a gem.  He is super sweet with all kids, loves other dogs, especially, Lacey (my mom's dog - former NR alum).   Little boy is getting more comfortable on the leash and is progressing well with potty training.  Maybe he can be your little boy?  :)

This little boy is so sweet.  For being a young puppy (10-12 mo old) he sure is mellow.  He doesn't do the puppy mouthing, doesn't chew on anything except his bones and really just wants to be around other dogs and people.  He had a busy day playing with my kids and is exhausted....

Today, my daughter was looking at a book and Evo quietly found a place to lay right by her hand.  Without even looking up from her book, she started petting him softly for about 5 min.  Can you blame this sweet boy for getting cozy while his 2 yr old friend gives him love?  He was in heaven.

Evo's favorite spot is on the couch.  He can watch and listen to my kids play and run around.  Yesterday, he had both of my kids laughing when they thought he was playing peak-a-boo.  He would perk up with his big ears and watch them and then bury his nose and eyes in his paws.  He did this about 5 times over and over again.  Maybe was politly saying "be quiet, I'm trying to nap over here.

Evo has been with us for a few days now and slowly he is getting more comfortable.  He is really such a sweet quiet little guy.  He enjoys sleeping on the couch and following Lacey (New Rattitude Alum) around.  My kids are gentle and kind to him and he isn't bothered by the loud noises in our house.  My daughter kisses on him and he licks her back gently.  A few things we have found out about Evo are 1) He doesn't know how to walk on a leash 2) I believe he is already potty trained 3) His cute bottom lip is pronounce because he has an underbite 4) All he wants to snuggle on the couch and be loved.  I am looking forward to him coming out of his shell even more in the next few days.
